OUR MISSION
It is the mission of Lincoln Street, Inc. (LSI) to support people with developmental disabilities by assisting them to identify their needs, desires and necessary supports to assure they reach their full potential while participating as contributing members of their communities.
In addressing our Mission
LSI places great value and focus on providing personalized services at all organizational levels of the agency from direct care staff and contractors to the Director.
LSI focuses continually on "building bridges" between the individuals we serve and community members, to increase natural unpaid relationships. This approach thereby reduces dependence upon paid supports and helps to build a more diverse community where all are valued.
LSI services are provided within many towns in Windsor and Windham counties, through collaboration with generic community resources and supports. We prefer this approach as opposed to the development of specialized programs which isolate those we serve from their communities.
We view ourselves as partners with those we serve and their families, our focus is to support vs. supplant natural relationships. To this end, we work with individuals and their families to make informed choices and respect those choices.
